The resort was beautiful and well maintained. It was easy to navigate with a covered path all the way from the lobby to the beach (very handy with all the rain we had). I loved all of the garden space around the property. It made it feel very private and helped insulate the sounds (very quiet even considering our room was near one of the popular wedding reception spots)

We also lived that the resort offered a family suite at a reasonable price. It was just 2 suites with a joining door between them, but Flora’s price was beyond affordable for that extra space.

The food was good. We have stayed at other resorts in the hotel chain, so we were familiar with the restaurants and menus. The buffet was our favorite for breakfast. It had a good variety with plenty of local Dominican favorites to let you sample. The kids loved their low counter buffet where they had frosted waffles with sprinkles and froot loop topped Nutella toast among other sweet treats. The ala carte restaurants were great quality as well, just not as kid friendly with their options (but the staff always provided coloring sheets and crayons and engaged with them which was nice).

The service was phenomenal. Everyone was so kind and friendly. We stayed in a preferred club room and our butler went above and beyond. He sent a cake to our room on our anniversary for us to celebrate. He checked in daily to make sure if there was anything needed. He even let me borrow a pair of scissors for something we needed for the vow renewal. The pool and beach staff were very attentive as well.

My daughter and I used the spa salon for hair and makeup and they were amazing. They were even accommodating on lowering the price for my daughter’s services because she is 4 and didn’t need as much time or product, which was not requested or expected but very appreciated.

The planning process was simple, but we had a less involved event. I was able to book our hair and make up in advance. The resort sends a checklist of items like songs requested for processional/recessional, if you need an officiant, what flowers you want as part of your package. Once at the resort, we met with the coordinator to confirm everything. We asked if we could have a non beach location for the ceremony and they were able to accommodate even days before the event!

The only part of planning that was difficult prior to arrival was contacting the resort photographer to get a contract completed prior. I’m not sure if it is fully necessary to plan too far ahead, but it is helpful when trying to budget appropriately.

Our coordinator was amazing! Eunice was responsive and very organized. She kept us up to date on weather conditions and had clear contingency plans if weather didn’t work in our favor. We had decided to bring artificial florals for boutonnieres and bouquets so she swapped the included flowers to a simple but beautiful centerpiece for the altar and dinner table. She met us at dinner to congratulate us to make sure everything went smoothly. And followed up the following morning after our breakfast in bed was delivered.

The only hiccup we had was with our photo and video services. There was some confusion on expectations of the video services contracted, but the manager of the photo team contacted me the following morning for a meeting to make it right. They were very proactive and professional and have already begun the process to correct the error.

I would recommend this resort to future brides. The wedding office staff is so accommodating. The resort does not have a large conference center on site, so they limit weddings to two each day to make sure they can fulfill all of the wedding wishes regardless of weather. They have a good rotation of closed a la carte restaurants to make sure non wedding guests still have sufficient access to a variety of menu options. The lush greenery help give the weddings more privacy. Our venue was on the upper deck above the main pool so probably one of the least private options, but the guests using the pool weren’t disruptive and actually cheered for us as if we had a big guest count.

Honorable Mention shout-out to Renny Travel for the airport transfer. They were easy to find, gave us our departure pick up time while still in the airport, and didn’t try to sell any additional excursions (something we have experienced with other larger transfer companies).

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all your hard work in helping us have a wonderful family vacation and vow renewal.  The resort was beautiful the staff was amazing and the kids had the best time ever.  We can’t wait to work with you again for our next adventure (lots of blank passport pages needing stamps now!).
